Greg Lamka's entire career has been in the seed industry where he held multiple roles: soybean seed production manager, director of soybean breeding, quality assurance manager (germination & seed purity), phytosanitary regulatory manager, and seed treatment strategy manager. He has served as chair of the Iowa Seed Association Board of Directors, chair of the ISF Seed Applied Technology committee, and has been appointed to the ISF Board of Directors and numerous ASTA committees. Prior to joining F&Co., Greg spent 22 years with DuPont Pioneer where he negotiated hundreds of research agreements to test new seed treatment products and negotiated supply agreements to purchase hundreds of millions of dollars of seed treatments annually. He also managed M&A technical diligence teams at Pioneer for several microbial companies.
Greg graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in Agronomy and an MS and PhD in Plant Pathology
Dr. Gilbert is an Environmental Microbiologist at Argonne National Laboratory, Tenured Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolution at University of Chicago, and senior fellow of the Institute of Genomic and Systems Biology. Dr. Gilbert is currently applying next-generation sequencing technologies to microbial metagenomics and metatranscriptomics to test fundamental hypotheses in microbial ecology. He has authored more than peer reviewed 120 publications and book chapters on metagenomics and approaches to ecosystem ecology.
